Photoshop tutorial - Post processing: Overburn

A simple photoshop tutorial for the post-processing of photographs. I named this “overburn” as it’s like burning the colours and increasing contrast.
It’s best used for architectural photography, moody cityscapes & landscapes.
1- Original

2- duplicate layer & desaturate

- Layer > Duplicate layer
- Image > Ajustments > Desaturate
3- move the desaturated layer at the bottom of the stack
if your original layer is still called “Background”, double click it to make it “layer 0″. As “Background”, Photoshop won’t let you push any layers under it.
4- change opacity of the grayscale layer to 50% or less
5- switch the colour layer to Overlay mode.
and you’re done.
